Changelog

A new editor

Edit a recording in your browser, with no upload and no account.

  • Opens after you record. The recording stays on your computer. Your edits save as you make them, and you can come back to any recording from the dashboard.
  • Cut and trim. Split a recording, remove parts and trim the ends on one timeline. Nothing is re-rendered until you export.
  • Zoom. Recordings open with a zoom on your clicks. Add your own, set how close each goes, and let a zoom follow the cursor or hold on a point you pick.
  • Frame and background. Crop the picture, then add padding, rounded corners, a shadow and a background.
  • Sound. Set the volume, mute a stretch, and add a music track.
  • Captions. Fix the text and timing of captions and style them. Generating them, in ten languages, is part of Pro.
  • Export. Download an MP4 or WebM at the size and quality you choose, or share a link.

Recordful Pro

Recordful Pro adds the cloud to the free extension.

  • Cloud recordings. Recordings upload while you record, and an interrupted upload resumes where it stopped.
  • Share links. Turn on a link for any recording, or keep it private to your workspace.
  • Dashboard. Every recording in one place.
  • Transcripts and captions. Request a transcript from a recording's page.
  • Editor. Edit a recording in the browser, and the player shows your edits.
  • Workspaces. Invite your team by email.

Recording, annotating and exporting with the extension stays free, with no account.

Timeline tracks and camera editing

Edit any part of a recording on its own, and lay out the camera however you like.

  • A track for everything. Video, camera, zooms, captions, sound and music each have their own track. Click any piece to select it, drag its ends to trim it, and press Delete to remove it.
  • Edit one part or the whole video. With a piece selected, the side panel changes only that piece: its padding, background, crop or volume. With nothing selected, it changes the whole video.
  • Camera layout. Choose where the camera sits, its shape (circle, square, wide or tall), its size, how it shrinks during a zoom, rounded corners and shadow. Mirror it, hide it, or split it to show it only where you want.
  • Trim your music. Music now sits on its own track, so it can start and stop where you choose.
